Dropcam Pro for Nest is an unofficial Nest application that hopes to give Windows fans / users a free option to access their cams on their phone, tablet, or desktop pc. If you need more than 7 days to reference back recorded video, Dropcam's $29.95 monthly plan is good for a full month of saved video. With that said, Dropcam's DVR service is works fantastically well on the web and with the Dropcam iOS app and we would highly recommend using it, but we wish the initial price of the camera was lower. Currently, Dropcam Pro or later can be paired via BLE through the mobile app while Dropcam HD would require USB setup though. The only workaround would involve finding an older version of OS X to.

Should I download the Dropcam app?
There are still a few features in the Dropcam app that aren’t in the Nest app yet. So until we add control by location, email alerts, and video sharing to the Nest app, we’ll keep the Dropcam app up and running.

Dropcam is a cloud-connected Wi-Fi camera system with free live streaming, two-way radio and remote monitoring services. Dropcams install easily at work or home and connect to a companion smartphone app for remote use. Users can turn the camera on or off depending on location, share with other users, schedule on/off times and record directly to the cloud. Dropcam is available in a regular and Pro varieties.
