Apple this week rolled out a fresh update for Aperture users, delivering a flurry of enhancements, including some much needed fixes for several issues reported by professional photographers.

Aperture 3.4.4 is a free update for anyone who has bought a copy of Aperture 3 from Apple. This update is a maintenance release targeting several known issues.

For example, in Aperture 3.4.4 Shared Photo Stream invitation lists now scroll correctly. When syncing web albums after waking from sleep, users should no longer get multiple warning dialogs.

Some changes made recently to the Aperture library are now reflected in the iLife Media Browser more reliably, while two-finger scrolling now works better.

The update further addresses an issue with library upgrades. Aperture would incorrectly display a dialog stating, “To open this iPhoto library in Aperture, it first needs to be upgraded.” This is no longer the case in Aperture 3.4.4, says Apple.

Some users reported issues that prevented images captured from a tethered camera from being written to disk on OS X Lion v10.7.5. Aperture 3.4.4 fixes this bug.
